  • Run “The Sims 3” system requirements diagnostic test on the computer (see Resources) to determine if the computer is capable of high-quality graphics.
  • <p> Click the “Windows” icon on the desktop and click “All Programs”, “EA Games” and “The Sims 3” to start the game.
  • Click on a sim family in the game to start the game and click the “Settings” icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Settings icon has three dots that take you to the game setup menu.
  • Click “Options” in the Settings menu and click the Graphics tab (the first tab) at the top of the Options menu.

  • Unchecked the box next to “Enable Advanced Rendering.” Slide the Edge Smoothing bar all the way to the left to disable it. Slide the tab on the Texture Detail tab to the left to reduce game details.
  • Slide the tab on the lightning and shadow the left tab to reduce unauthorized details as these can mow down game performance.
  • Click the checkbox icon in the lower right corner of the window to save the changes and exit.
